The Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday appealed to Saudi Arabia to assist in promoting 'the true teachings of Islam' to fast- track de-radicalization and curtail the spread of Boko Haram ideology in the North-East. Minister of Defense, Mansur Dan Ali , made the call in Maiduguri while flagging off the distribution of relief items donated by the Saudi Kingdom, to persons displaced by Boko Haram insurgency in the region.


The Nigerian military have been fully engaged in the past nine years in it fight against the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents. The group is known for unleashing deadly attacks mostly on Muslim populace in Nigerian and surrounding countries.


The minister said that the call was imperative to enhance true teachings of Islam, curtail spread of Boko Haram ideology and end insurgency in the area. In his words the minister said “I request the assistance of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assist in the promotion and propagation of right Islamic ideology to eradicate Boko Haram ideologies in the country.


The minister of defense called the moderate Islam of Saudi Arabia as 'the right Islamic ideology' which leads to salvation knowingly or unknowingly have. While it's well known that the Islamic ideology of the MBS-led kingdom have embark on crackdown on scholars, music concerts, film shows, vetting of the prophetic Hadīth to remove extreme content and build a brotherly relationship with the illegal Jewish state.


The minister also praise the cordial relationship between the two countries and also called for more military and intelligent support and corporation.


He said “I also urge the Saudi Arabia Government to extend the military defense platform sharing of information and intelligence to Nigeria.


“Our country values the cordial relations that exist between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.


“The two countries have continued to collaborate in areas of mutual benefits and interest, including military relations, especially with the recent posting of the Nigerian Defense Adviser to Riyadh,”


While the military presence of Saudi in Yemen is known to have brought hunger, death and the worst humanitarian crisis ever to the country.
